Water Polo

Newberg Water Polo — Join the Fun & Build Skills!

Water polo is a fast-paced, team-oriented aquatic sport that combines swimming, strategy, and ball skills in a dynamic and fun environment. Newberg Water Polo Club (NWPC) has been serving the Chehalem Valley since 1983 and offers programs for athletes of all experience levels — from beginners learning the fundamentals to competitive players preparing for high school and beyond. New players are always welcome, and we proudly offer a free two-week trial so athletes can experience the sport in a supportive and encouraging setting. This two-week free trial can be activated at any time!

NWPC practices and competitions take place at the Chehalem Aquatic Center’s Jim McMaster Competition Pool. Programs are structured by age and skill level to ensure athletes develop confidence, teamwork, and strong foundational skills in the water.

Program Offerings Include:

11U / Elementary (approximately ages 11 & under): Introduction to water polo fundamentals such as passing, shooting, positioning, and teamwork
14U / Middle School (approximately ages 12–14): Skill development and preparation for competitive play
18U / High School: Advanced training, scrimmages, and tournament participation
Water polo is an excellent way for swimmers and non-swimmers alike to build endurance, strength, coordination, and game awareness while being part of a fun and inclusive team environment.
